Third defeat in a row as Bangladesh hammers Nepal by 92 runs


KATHMANDU, Nov 29: Nepali Women’s cricket team faced another humiliating defeat in its third match of the ongoing ACC Women’s T20 Asian Cup in Thailand on Tuesday as Bangladesh hammered Nepal by 92 runs.

Chasing the 134 runs target set by Bangladesh, Nepal managed to get only 41 runs on the board losing all wickets in 17.3 overs.

It is third straight defeat for Nepal in the tournament. Earlier, Nepal was thrashed by Asian cricket powerhouses Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Sita Rana Magar top-scored for Nepal at 15 runs. No other players managed to reach the double digit figure. Fahima Khatun sent four Nepal batswomen off the pavilion.

Earlier, opting to bat first after winning the toss, Bangladesh set 134 runs target for Nepal losing four wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

For Bangladesh, Sanjida Islam made 35 runs facing 40 balls hitting five fours. Nigar Sultana and Shaila Sharmin contributed 39 and 19 runs respectively.
